5/1/05 vs Rockies
Recap
It was the return of Nolan Dunkly as the Sun Devils again hammered the Rockies and came away with an 18-12, come from behind victory. Down 8-5 entering the bottom of the 6th, the Sun Devils scored 13 runs of Rockies flame thrower Roney Johnson to put the Rockies away in the 8th. Jason Price was the spearhead as usual (can you say MVP?) reaching base 4 times and scoring 3, with a stolen base. Price and Center Fielder Kory “Hollywood” Martin continued their contest for the stolen base lead, each swiping a bag. Kevin McKinley scored three times and had two hits and two walks, and Matt Jobe and Brad Schroers added 3 knocks apiece. Nolan Dunkly made his season debut, and Rich “RD” Fedrick made his team debut. Dunkly contributed some stellar defense in left field, while RD showed the potential of his sinker. Said Manager Brendon Booth after the affair, “I knew that if we could just score more runs than they did, that we would be victorious. Wouldn’t ya know, we did, and we were.”
